Badminton Horse Trials 2016

One of the highlights of the Equestrian calendar is the Badminton Horse Trials and I am fortunate to cover this for a number of publications and therefore get to spend four days photographing the top riders and horses competing.

Michael Jung from Germany was attempting to win his third 4star event in a row to become only the second person ever to win the Rolex Grand Slam of eventing. A superb dressage test followed by a clear round in both the Cross Country and The Show Jumping saw him achieve this amazing feat. #MMBHT

Iain and Rebecca's Spring Wedding

Recently I had the great privilege of photographing a beautiful wedding for a family I have known for a long time. Thank you Rebecca and Iain for a fabulous day, I hope that the photos will do the day justice I thought I would share just one with you as it was one of my favourites. I love photographing Weddings at any time of year Winter Weddings, Summer Weddings but its hard to beat a Spring Wedding when there is a Bluebell Wood just a few miles from the church.

The 2016 Soldiering on Awards

Once again I worked at the Soldiering on Awards a truly inspirational event held each year to honour Service personnel who have suffered life changing injuries in the line of duty.  The event was held at the Park Plaza Hotel just off Westminster Bridge in London was also raising funds for a number of Military Charities #SoldieringOnAwards

A Question of Sport Dinner at Lords

Event Photography is a large part of what I do capturing the atmosphere and excitement of big events at top venues is a real challenge but one I relish. These events are usually fund raisers for charities or foundations and often feature some of the biggest names in sport and entertainment. There are quite a lot of similarities to Wedding Photography in so far as they are a one off event and you have to get it right first time every time.

This particular event, run by Paragon Sprorts Management was raising funds for Cricket Charity Cricket United, held at Lords Cricket Ground and featuring a quiz with Question of sport captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tuffnell. A packed room enjoyed an evening of great food, fun and quizzing. There were lots of familiar faces around the room from international cricket and there was a real buzz about the evening.

Happy Birthday Your Majesty

Today marks the 90th Birthday of our Queen a remarkable lady who has been our Monarch for longer than any other. She has served  her country with devotion and dedication.

Whilst I have not been lucky enough to actually meet the Queen I have seen  photographed her on many occasions. So to celebrate her special day here is a selection of my favourite photos I have taken over the years.

A chance encounter with a Kingfisher

Sometimes you plan a shoot to the last detail and nothing goes how you intended. Sometimes you just happen to be in the right place at the right time with a camera in your hand. This morning whilst out shooting for a local calendar I spotted a Kingfisher darting up and down the river, so I dashed back to the car grabbed the telephoto lens and went to see if I could see him again. Rounding the corner of the bridge I saw him sitting on the branch of a small tree oblivious of me he carried on fishing as I took loads of photos. I watched him for over an hour diving into the crystal clear water

Stourhead Spring Fun Ride 17.04.16

Sunday saw me on the Downs above Stourhead in Wiltshire to photograph The Spring Fun ride on a lovely sunny but chilly day. Over 150 riders took part in the event in which riders had the choice of two rotes of 6 or 12 miles in beautiful countryside. You can view all the photos Click Here

Spring Wedding 16.04.16

On Saturday I photographed my first Spring Wedding of the year, a lovely day, a little chilly at times, but a wedding with a real country feel to it. Kirsten and Adam got married in a small country church, in a pretty Wiltshire village, the brides horses came to the church for photos after  the ceremony and the couple left in an open topped Land rover. Congratulations to the happy couple and thank you for making me feel so welcome on your big day.

Bellowhead Farewll Tour - Salisbury City Hall

Fabulous night photographing an amazing group of musicians up close and personal.  I photograph events and weddings all over the South West but sometimes it nice to photograph a band whose music you really like. Sad to see Bellowhead disbanding thanks for all the music and great gigs guys.
